Thrift Store Score

For a buck-fifty, a CD of Aaron Copland's best-known works, including this one Fanfare for the Common Man. The CD section at thrift stores is hit or miss, usually filled with mass-produced, once-popular stuff that no one should have ever listened to in the first place, but occasionally...you find an Aaron Copland CD for a buck-fifty.

I also found a boxed set of Roberto Bolano's book 2666 for $2.50. I already had the book, originally intended to be five volumes but published in one after Bolano's death, but it's 900 pages and nearly unreadable because of it. The box set breaks it up into three volumes, the longest at 350 pages.

Much more readable!
