Back on the night shift again and while I'm a bit sleepy at the moment, I'm actually digging it. The 2-10 racket was really starting to get on my nerves, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
And no, it's not because working on Friday and Saturday nights sucks, although it does, it's because talking to the incompetent, unhelpful, ignorant, and unprofessional scrubs working projection on those days is no picnic.
They can't help you and even if they could, they won't. You want to get good help these days, you have to hire Mexicans.

Are these projectionists "incompetent, unhelpful, ignorant, and unprofessional scrubs" because they are mostly teenagers? I'm just curious, because it seems that my local cineplex only hires high school kids. They have good manners (this is Canada after all), but they clearly don't give a shit about me or my movie-going experience. They probably aren't paid enough to give a shit, but that's another story.
They are, indeed, mostly high school kids. Some of them probably don't work but one day a week. I seriously down they get paid much, but from what I've seen...paying them any more would just be wasting money. Someday it will all be automated.
And I will control the world (of cineplexes) at my desk.
