Wow, I did compare the two, and mine is 73% caucasian.
Also, overall, my zip has a lower median income.
Although 89% have at least a high school education.
Oops, compared 80203 to your 80010
Cat, I have to say, it's kind of depressing that your neighborhood has a higher percentage of people living below the poverty line... I hope we're anomalies.
Big Daddy, 73% is practically whitey town. Although, I compared the neighborhood where I live now to where I grew up, and it was seventy some percent white too. You wanna see whitey-town though, you gotta check out Parker...80138.
91.7% white.
I live in Parker, and the zip is 80134. What is up with this "whitey-town" shit???? As if it a bunch of white racist live down there. It is not that way. I work my ass off to live were I do. You forget I grew up 1 mile from where you live now? Back then it was 70% black, now it is hispanic and asian. So I moved out of the city, and have a 1 hour drive to work each day. The skhool system is much better in Douglas county anyway. See I cant even spell school, Oh wait I just did. HA HA
Sorry, Jim, I mislabeled Parker. I think the actual term is Whiteyville. (Also by using that term, I believe I'm the racist here. The self-segregating white people who fled the city for the lily-white suburbs? Nah...They're a bunch of Martin Luther King Jrs, living their ideas of racial harmony thru example.)
As for the schools in Douglas county, no doubt they're much better. Schools in the city and poorer neighborhoods struggle for funding, can't pay the best teachers, and have to compete with the street. (I have a feeling Parker doesn't have much a gang problem....)
Did you take a look at your zip code on this thing to see just how "above-average" your neighborhood is? The median income in 80134 is $86,356, which is more than twice the national average (almost three times, even!). Less than 1 percent live below the poverty level. Almost 37% of them have 4 year degrees, 97.4% are high school graduates. 75.3% of the people are married.
"An average American town" Parker is not.
What the fuck? If you think we moved there because it is "whiteyville" as you put is one fucked up idea on your part. I like where I live, I don't make that much money but I do okay. I don't want my kids to go to the same sorry ass schools I did. It was the bloods and crips in my school, and I don't want them to have to put up with the shit I did. So I work hard and moved to where I did. I would not want my kids to have to live where you do and go to those schools. I lived where you do, I went to those schools, and if it were not for the US Marine Corps I would still be there today, and be a loser.
You musta thought it was White Boy Day? It ain't White Boy Day is it?
